Sunday 8th January 2023 saw the return of the annual sponsored row following Covid. The weather wasn’t too kind, windy and rain squalls and a little chilly, but this didn’t stop 36 craft on the water and over 100 rowers taking part.
Our outfits this year were a celebration of costumes we have worn over the years. The Basin Oars has been rowing in this event since 1991 and very proud to be able to say that we have raised just shy of £112,000 for the RNLI.
The event raised over £8,000. We retained the Panther Trophy awarded to the boat that has raised the most money, a total of £5,555 which has been generated for the most part through our running of the RNLI 200 Club over the past 12 years.
We are honoured and humbled to have had our fundraising efforts recognised by the RNLI with Emma Cunnington from the RNLI presenting us with a special award!
Thanks to everyone who has supported us over the years.
